The
North Hopewell Township Police Department is soliciting contributions from
businesses and residents of the township as well as from any other source
to purchase an automated external defibrillator (AED) to be used in
conjunction with emergency medical dispatches. Due to the relatively
rural nature of the township and the sometimes delayed response due to
distances for EMS equipment, the police department has decided to equip
patrol vehicles with an AED. Department personnel are trained and
certified in the use of AEDs. Anyone
wishing to donate funds will be used exclusively for the purchase of an
AED, estimated to be between $1500 and $2500, should mail their
